Welcome to Shout Section! We swing big band for Chicagoland! We are •the• Chicago Big Band for Weddings, Corporate Events, Swing Dances & Concerts! You've made it to the home of the band that makes big band swing come alive with excitement. The SSBB was formed in 2007. Since then, we've been entertaining audiences at swing dances, weddings, corporate events, city concerts, festivals and schools all over the Midwest. We've been featured on Chicago television, world-wide radio, and on the nationally syndicated television show, "Vampire Diaries." We were hired by Amazon.com to perform 1940's swing for the opening of the Amazon Prime series "A League of Their Own." Rivaling some big-name orchestras in sound and staffed by some of the best musicians in the Chicago area, you're going to love listening to and dancing to Shout Section Big Band!

Shout Section holds prestigious residencies at Chicago's most storied venues such as Andy's Jazz Club and Fitzgerald's Nightclub. The band also performs a monthly dance for the lindy-swing community at the Roxy Theater in the Chicago suburbs. A new release from the Shout Section Big Band, formed in Chicago in 2007. Featuring vocalist Tatum Langley, whose singing is reminiscent of Diane Schuur, Ella Fitzgerald, and Anita O’Day. The jacket design is taken from Frank Sinatra’s classic album Sinatra’s Swingin’ Session!!!. True to the band’s name, Langley’s powerful voice stands out against an energetic sound. Highlights include a jazzy Carpenters number (track 7), a track where she mimics Ella’s scat singing (track 10), and a track that recreates Buddy Bregman’s famous arrangement (track 14), among others. Highly recommended for big band and vocal fans!!!
